I just got this book yesterday and im about to start on it! it came within a week so im elated about that! the condition of the book is immaculate and new! im going to love reading this! thank you! the book is great ivew had it for about a couple weeks now and its geat! jill scott is just awesome reading her poetry is like your there with her or your in her head and you her evey thought. what a sustained and talented sista! the book is eally good! i love it!

Soul speak by Jill Scott

Oh my goodness!!!! This book of poetry is soul stirring and speaks to sisters of every hue and age. But especially as a black woman with a kinship to Jill's life, this book of poetry is awesome and feels like she is speaking my story. In the foreward Jill recounts how when she was a young girl and discovered the poetry of Nikki Giovanni she felt that Nikki's poetry was speaking directly to her. That is EXACTLY the way I feel when I read Jill's poetry. Raw, emotional, soft, loud, erotic, historic and powerful...only a few words that barely describe the beautiful array of feelings and senses and phases of life that her words evoke. GET THIS BOOK. Whether or not you are a lover of modern poetry, one read and you will become a lifetime fan of this woman. Jill Scott is the truth.

About the Author
Dr. Julian Gaspar is the director of Texas A&M University's Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) and is responsible for internationalizing Mays Business School's academic programs and faculty research. As the director of one of America's 17 CIBER business schools, Dr. Gaspar's mission is to infuse and promote internationalization in business courses. He is the architect of institutionalizing internationalization in Mays business curriculum through international business course design and development, and implementation of overseas study programs. Dr. Gaspar teaches international finance and conducts study abroad programs with Mays students in China, Europe and India. Dr. Gaspar is an international economist by training, with three decades of international expertise in country risk analysis, project economic and financial analysis, and financial and industrial restructuring of emerging economies. His corporate experience stems from his years of work with Bank of America in Tokyo and San Francisco, where he conducted country risk analysis and researched and analyzed debt problems of developing countries. During his tenure as an international economist with the World Bank Group in Washington, DC, Dr. Gaspar worked on analyzing investment projects in Asia and designing financial and industrial restructuring programs for Poland and Cyprus. Dr. Gaspar received his PhD in international and monetary economics from Georgetown University, an MBA from Indiana University, and a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Madras, India. Dr. Gaspar consults with the U.S. Department of State on business education reform in Central Asia and Russia. Dr. Gaspar is the lead author of two textbooks: Introduction to Business and Introduction to Global Business.

Dr. Arreola-Risa is an associate professor in the Information & Operations Management Department, Mays Business School, Texas A&M University. He received his BS degree in industrial and systems engineering from Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM) in Mexico, his MS in industrial engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, and his MS and PhD in operations management from Stanford University. Prior to joining Texas A&M University, Dr. Arreola-Risa worked as a production and inventory control analyst at a manufacturing firm, and later he taught at ITESM and at the University of Washington in Seattle. His primary research, teaching, and consulting interests are in production-inventory systems as well as in service operations, with emphasis on enterprise resource planning, supply-chain management, and health care systems management. He currently teaches undergraduate, masters, and doctoral courses, and is the director of the Supply Chain Consortium at Texas A&M University. He has lectured in executive education programs, has consulted for numerous companies in the U.S. and abroad, and is a member of the St. Joseph Health System Board of Trustees. Dr. Arreola-Risa is a member of the Decision Sciences Institute, the Institute of Industrial Engineers, the Production and Operations Management Society, and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences. Some of his research can be found in the academic journals Decision Sciences, European Journal of Operational Research, IIE Transactions, Management Science, Naval Research Logistics, and Production and Operations Management. He is the co-author of the textbooks Linear Programming: An Introduction to Quantitative Decision Making (Thomson Learning Inc., 2003) and Introduction to Business (Houghton Mifflin Company, 2006).

Professor Bierman does research and writing in the areas of strategic management and human resource management, with particular emphasis on topics related to corporate governance and professional service firms. Earlier in his career he held positions in the federal government at the EEOC, the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. International Trade Commission.

Richard T. Hise is Professor Emeritus of Marketing, Texas A&M University, where his teaching and research interests are international marketing, product planning and development, management of technology, marketing strategy, and logistics/supply chain. His articles have appeared in the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Global Marketing, Sloan MIT Management Review, Business Horizons, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Research-Technology Management, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, and Marketing Management. He has authored or co-authored eight marketing or business textbooks. A consultant to major companies such as Hotel Sofitel, Lockheed Martin, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Harley Davidson, and Fleetwood Enterprises, he has given executive development programs for Hoffman-LaRoche, Halliburton, Amoco, and the Kuwait Institute of Banking Studies. Dr. Hise has worked and traveled in England, France, Monaco, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, and Liechtenstein as leader/instructor of study abroad courses. He taught seminars in Ecuador and Kuwait and semester-length courses at the Universidad de las Americas, Puebla, Mexico, and the Grande Ecole, Tours, France. His biography is included in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in International Business Education and Research, and Who's Who in Finance and Business. He has a BA from Gettysburg College (major in economics, minors in business, political science, and Spanish) and MBA and DBA degrees from the University of Maryland.

Professor Kolari has taught financial markets and institutions at Texas A&M University and been active in international education, consulting, and executive education. Currently, he is director of the Commercial Banking Program in the Mays Business School. In 1994, he was awarded the JP Morgan Chase Professorship in Finance in the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. In 1986, he was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Helsinki and worked with the Bank of Finland and large banking organizations there. He has served as a Faculty Fellow with the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 1982. In recent years he has worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Swedish School of Business and Economics (Hanken), Vaasa, Finland. Previously, he served as an advisor on the North American Free Trade Agreement for the State of Texas, consultant for the Mexican government in financing technology, and member of the Academy of Sciences for Higher Education in Russia. With over 100 articles published in refereed journals, numerous other papers and monographs, 15 co-authored books, and over 100 competitive papers presented at academic conferences, he ranks in the top 1%-2% of finance scholars in the U.S., according to recently published guides of research productivity among finance professors. His papers have appeared in such domestic and international journals as the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Business, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Journal of Financial Research, Journal of Banking and Finance, Real Estate Economics, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, and the Scandinavian Journal of Economics.

This book is wonderful!! At last someone understands!!! Having lost 2 sisters I struggle with grief and sorrow...while feeling like I know longer belong to what is left of my family.... This book offers sympathy and understanding as the author shares many stories of the impact of losing a sibling.... I no longer feel like there is something wrong with me... I understand that losing a sibling is very devestating and very often underestimated by society... And while I still miss my sisters I have a better understanding of why this has been a most difficult loss.

I found this book extremely helpful after the death of my sister. There were many different scenarios of siblings dying (accident, illness, murder, suicide). The author interviewed many people of various ages who had lost a sibling. Loosing my sister was devastating. This is just one of the many steps that I have taken to establish my " new normal".Still working on it, but still helpful.

This book is saving my life. I am going through intense grief following the death of my brother. T. J. seems to really know what I am going through. She offers support and suggestions that are helpful. Every time I read the book, I feel comforted. And I feel like everything I am going through is "normal" for this kind of grief. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has lost a sibling. It really helps! Buy it right away as she describes the grief you are feeling starting at the very beginning.

Not as good as others like it...

I ordered this book as well as Edible Wild Plants by Thomas S. Elias & Peter A. Dykeman. This book relies on drawings and has very few color photos whereas the book by Elias and Dykeman is all color photos and a much easier to use and higher quality guide.

This guide has a lot of good information if you have time to piece it all together. I bought it to try to identify plants in my area that would be good for foraging. The way this is organized, it's hard to quickly identify local flora and fauna. It is mostly categorized by plant species, then you have to see if that plant is in your area. I think it would be easier if it were categorized by state/region, then by plant type, etc or even if it were categorized by season so that I know what I could be looking for today. Another helpful arrangement would be by use (salad-type greens, spices, teas, starches, etc.) There are a few color pictures of plants in the wild, but most illustrations are pencil drawings, which for me is not very helpful especially when a poison plant and a safe plant look the same except for a few minute differences. If the apocolypse were to happen tomorrow, I would likely go hungry for a couple of weeks trying to find my way through this book. As it is now, I am using it as a starting point to compile my own unique foraging guide that's organized so that it's more functional.

Not very helpful.

I recently went on a camping trip in Tennessee. I've been trying to perfect my bug out bag through trial and error. One of the things that I thought would be important for me to have is a guide to edible plants for the area that I live in. This book had good reviews and I do a lot of my purchasing through Amazon so I thought I'd give it a try. While I was out hiking I picked a number of plants to take back to the camp sight. But when I tried to use this book to identify the plants I was disappointed. The hand drawn pictures were not enough for me to positively identify any but a couple of the plants that I harvested. Even without a picture a good description of the plant would have been enough for me to know what I had. Unfortunately the book didn't provide enough of a detailed description for me to be sure that what I had was edible or poisonous. My advice is to look for a guide that either provides a color photograph, not a drawing of the plants, or at least provides a better description of the plants. I have to add one star for the effort I'm sure it involved in making the book but other than that it doesn't have much going for it. Not a good buy.

very disappointed in this expensive book

This book is for the academic,not for the trader who is looking for a practical workable solution to the Elliot Wave. I am getting the feeling the author wants to boast about his knowledge on elliot wave theory and more so wants to re- invent the concept.I am very, very disappointed in this expensive book. There are hundreds of much better sources out there to help you not only to understand elliot wave , but the application of this theory. the only reason i give this book one star is because there is no option for a zero rating. Make no mistake if you want to become a reservoir of knowledge on elliot wave and have no interest in applying the theory in trading, then this book might be a good choice. Other than that, do not waste a dime on this book.

This is not a novel about some character named "Elliott".....

it IS, however, a major treatise on the Elliott Wave theory, probably the first and only one like this that has ever been written. It is a very good book on a subject that few financial people know - or even care - about, but would or should learn. No, it will not make you a imillion dollars; it WILL help you make better decisions about where a particular stock is going and how soon but it will also take a very long time to digest. This is a book that you read a few pages and then put the book down and spend the next few hours or days digesting what you've read, even going to the charts looking for examples of what you've just read. Robert Prechter wrote a few good books on this subject and this book by Neely is an excellent supplement. I think it's fair to say that books dealing with theories associated with the financial world are very dry and very boring to people who just aren't into the finacial world, and sometimes even more boring to those of us who ARE hooked on the world of finances, securities, and the stock market but be that as it may, if you are deeply into the markets, this is a good one to have on your shelf along side of Robert Prechter's book.

A Masterpiece but could be better organized

A superb treatise of practical application of Elliott wave behavior, but one has to do a lot of traveling back and forth for certain rule applications. For example, there is quite a lot of information about different kinds of patterns, but it is scattered across many chapters.Also if Neely had included real life examples of actual markets it would have been even better.The chapter on the first set of rules could have been made a little more user friendly.
All in all, an essential book for every aspiring market technician and theorist alike.

They say no mourners, but I'm mourning. I'm mourning that this duology is over. I adored the first book, but the with the addition of the second, the two paired go up in my list of ABSOLUTE PERFECT BOOKS EVAR (which, Ima be honest with you, is kind of hard to get into. The Raven Boys is in there. Harry Potter is in there. You know what's not? The Hunger Games trilogy or even the author's first set of work, the Grisha Trilogy. SCANDALOUS)

This was so delicious. It was. Fulfilling, never disappointing, it whetted my appetite for a last job/heist story and satisfied with the level of a Shawshank Redemption-style smack down. It gave me spine-shiveringly-fingers-grazing-slightly-hungrily romantic moments, sweet first love moments, hungry lip-devouring moments. It gave me moments where I wanted to fist pump the hell out of every character, and then clutch them to my chest.and make soothing crooning moments.I read the entire thing in 6 hours. Then I re-read the ending. Multiple times. Tears and shivers and laughing and crying all at the same time. Every time.

I CANNOT ENUNCIATE ENOUGH MY APPRECIATION FOR THIS BOOK. I literally gasped at the presentation of one character who I didn't see coming (literally or figuratively) but was so delighted at the brilliance of the author's move. Everything fit. A perfect puzzle of a story that comes to the most resounding satisfying snap at the ending. I AM NOT KIDDING. BUY THIS BOOK. Actually, buy Six of Crows first, devour that (if you have't) and then BUY THIS BOOK. And if you're like me, voraciously devour it. Then as soon as you hit the ending, immediately go back and start re-reading, because you know you've missed details the first time around because the pacing of the story wouldn't allow you to slow down and appreciate the nuances. That's what 2nd readings are for. And 3rd. AND CAN I GET A HALLELUJAH FOR NO LOVE TRIANGLES?!!!?!!?! (THAT didn't count. IT doesn't count. I'm not counting IT.)

Thank you Leigh Bardugo, for this duology. Thank you for adding to my miserly BEST READS EVAR pile. Thank you for Kaz, Inej, Jesper, Wylan, Nina, Matthias, Sprecht, Rotty and every other brilliant character you've made so readable and loveable/hateable.

Although, could someone please help me out? Most of the lands are pretty obviously references to real life places. Can I get an assist on Novyi Zem? I know I should be able to figure it out - I feel like it staring at me RIGHT IN THE FACE, not mad, just....disappointed.

Loved it and cried! ♥

In this book, I came to love the characters even more. I just loved them!

Crooked Kingdom starts off with a bang, just right out there. The crew is in it from start to finish. In the first book, Six of Crows I was a little bored in the beginning and then it took off for me and I ended up loving it. This one I loved from the first paragraph.

4. Jesper
5. Inej
6. Nina
7. Kuwei

and the others here and there through-out the book are totally awesome!

One of the crew members is kidnapped by the evil, Van Eck, and they are trying to get them back. And of course, you know they do =)

At one point though, when they were talking about torturing said person, I cringed big time at what I thought they were getting ready to do, but they didn't do that particular thing. Leigh Bardugo sure did have me on the edge of my seat saying no, no, no, no!

I loved the little backstories about the group in this book. We get to find out certain things about their home life, what they went through. I loved getting to know Jesper's father in the book, he was a really nice old man that could be a tough cookie too. It even went into Jesper's life with his mom and what happened to her.

One of the saddest I read was of Wylan's life. I mean most of them had sad lives or something happen to them but just the things in Wylan's life was/is sad and just plain evil.

But this is one bad to the bone group of people that have each each others back through the whole story. At least as much as they can. They are so great at what they do! The ordinary things and even the magical things some of them can do. AMAZEBALLS! The high wire part and the walking dead, those were cool parts. I mean the whole book is awesome, you just have to read it! Accept for one part but I digress!

This book is bloody brilliant. I know I say that a lot but there is nothing I like more than to be able to say that about a book I just read! EVEN THOUGH LEIGH BARDUGO BROKE MY HEART A LITTLE ♥

I would say more but I sort of got off track when I saw a spoiler on goodreads and I was bummed the rest of the book. So my review sort of went downhill. But, no spoilers :-)

The books starts pretty much where the last one left off

The books starts pretty much where the last one left off. The crew is still recovering and shaken by the events at the end of book one.

I thought the last book was great but this one was epic.

I don’t want to say too much to not spoil it so I will make it a short review of this book.

Okay, like I said they are still recovering from the blow of the last book, but if you know Kaz from the last book you know that he has like five plans already made to get them back on track and the crew back together.

In this book we learn so much more about all the crew members, their past, their plans for the future, they hope and dreams and is a sad realty. Relationships are strengthened but there is always the question of who they can really trust. Who will betray them next? Which is a big part to each of them but also as a crew as a whole. Plus some people still fault others of the crew for the events that took place and are holding a pretty big grudge.

There are some big twists in the book, which I mostly loved. I loved the twists just maybe not the outcome.

There were some quite brutal scenes in this book that not only showed how far some crew member would go but also some of the things they have endured in their past. But to even it out there were also some pretty sweet moments in the book, as well some heartbreaking ones. I shed tears a few times throughout the book.

The end was epic and perfect (almost) for all the crew members. It was bittersweet and a little sad.

I know I will miss all the characters in this duology, It is hard to connect to some characters in books sometimes but to love every single one of them in one book or series is pretty freaking rare. And I did. I loved the entire crew that shared this epic journey, they were super engaging and made it almost impossible to not only love one but almost all. If I had to choose some of my favorite it would be Nina and Jes, but really I liked then all , each of them for something different.

I highly recommend this series.

Overall great book, lots of twist and turns, action, sorrow, great suspense, plus love and we get a little humor.

Great fantasy series

Fans of Harry Potter, Simon Thorn, anything Rick Riordan and other fantasy series will love the Magisterium series. Twelve-year-old Call has been taught by his father to fear and avoid magic all of his life. He has heard alarming stories of what life at the magician's training school, the Magisterium, is like. Then he is unwillingly thrown into that world, loses his connection to his father and must face a terrifying future. Along the way, Call finds loyal friends and determined enemies but often has trouble distinguishing between the two. Readers of this genre will love this series unless they are bothered by the striking parallels between Harry Potter and the world of the Magisterium. Unlike some of Holly Black and Cassandra Clare's more mature works, this series is appropriate for grades 5 and up.

I’m glad I finally found the time though

I bought this one as soon as it came out but just haven’t had the time to read it. I’m glad I finally found the time though, because it was a great read. The story follows Callum Hunt as he attends his first year at a school of alchemical magic, a school his father always warned him would be the death of him. When he arrives, however, Callum falls in love with the school and the magic his father had always warned him against. He even makes friends, something he has never had before due to his crippled leg making him an object of mockery at previous schools. But the longer he stays the more he starts to uncover about just how dark this world of magic can be. Just how dark he might be.

The concept of a chosen one and magical schools is one that’s a bit overdone as of late, but Clare and Black manage to keep it interesting with plenty of new elements. I’ve always been a lover of alchemy ever since I was little, but in most stories about magic it is mentioned off-hand and never really focused on if it is mentioned at all, so it was awesome to see it take center stage here. There’s also some hints at a decent explanation of the magic and where it is drawn from, something that generally seems to be lacking in other books of this sort.

It was also refreshing not to have a love triangle of any sort hinted at, but if I know Clare there’s a decent chance something of the sort will show up in the later books of this series as the characters get a bit older. I do sort of hope it doesn’t though. It really isn’t needed. Either way though, I will certainly be eagerly devouring the rest of this series as it comes out.

Didn't live up to expectations

Feels like a direct rip-off of Harry Potter. Main character is the most angsty 12 year old I've read about, and the other characters don't seem genuine. Writing is not as mature as I would expect from either of these authors, having read Holly Black's faerie trilogy and Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter series.
